MOTHER

Delicacy and character through time

The first time I walked through the doors of Union Suiza, I was fascinated by the delicacy of its architecture, the elegance of its ornaments, and, above all, by the garlands. Those flowers awakened an intimate memory in me, a motif that returns without explanation, like the flavors or smells of childhood. From that moment, MATER was born: a small story of yellow and white gold, with flowers inspired by Union Suiza's characteristic architecture, with modernism as its banner, and two Valenciennes ribbons that tie it around the neck, reminding us that even a jewel can be fragile.

MATER: symbolizes much more than an object: it is a statement of intent. It represents roots, origin, and essence—that which connects us to our starting point and to the most authentic part of our identity.

Through these elements, reinterpreted as a common thread between tradition and contemporaneity, the piece becomes a celebration of origin, artisanal beauty, and the legacy that defines us. It evokes 1930s Barcelona, the modernism that can still be felt in some doorways and facades, and that golden gaze with which we contemplate our city.

And there's also that mix of sweetness and character that always inhabits the Helbig universe: a flower can be innocent and delicate, yes, but it can also withstand the fiercest storm. Perhaps that's why we think of Marie Antoinette or Anne Boleyn, women who understood that beauty can also be a challenge. MATER is, in short, a nod to the past, a reverence for the city, and a declaration of love, one of those that are said without words, but that stay forever.
