The design of this watch is inspired by the glaciers of Antarctica. Its three-dimensional dial pattern and color scheme feature more than 2,000 surfaces and are designed to express the natural formations and pressure the glaciers endured during their long cooling period. The watch comes with a choice of a bracelet and a NATO textile strap made from 100% recycled bottles. The case of this watch is a modern reinterpretation of the 1968 Diver watch. The original 1968 model was Seiko's first Diver watch from Japan, featuring a monobloc case and a 36,000-beat caliber. The success of the 1968 model laid the foundation for the development of Diver watches for the next sixty years. This watch is powered by the new caliber 6R54 and is Seiko's first mechanical diver's watch with GMT functionality. The bracelet sits comfortably on the wrist thanks to its low center of gravity and short links.
