SAVE THE OCEAN THE ASTROLABE

It is a reinterpretation of the celebrated 1965 diving watch with a dial design reminiscent of an astrolabe, expressing a centuries-old synergy of technology and navigation. As part of Prospex Save the Ocean's mission, Seiko is supporting an underwater archaeology project aimed at exploring historic sites to protect their cultural heritage for future generations. Among these sites is one near the Greek island of Fournoi, where many ships that sank in the 4th century AD are found. The watch is powered by Caliber 8L35, specially developed for diving watches and hand-assembled by Seiko's most skilled craftsmen. The rigidity and precision of the movement ensure the highest possible levels of performance in the most demanding environments, both on land and underwater. It is a limited edition of 1,300 pieces.
